BMS joined APEC BCG Awardees from 2023–2025 for a learning visit to Aromatic Farm, our partner, exploring regenerative farming and opportunities to turn agricultural by-products into valuable resources.
The visit was part of BCG Awardees Connect 2026, organised by Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The programme brought together awardees to exchange experiences, build connections, and explore practical applications of the Bio-Circular-Green Economy. Programme details
Learning from a BCG Awardee
Aromatic Farm is led by Nuanla-or Dherdkiattikun, a recipient of the 2023 APEC BCG Award in the Women category. Her work has been recognised for its commitment to regenerative and smart farming, resource efficiency, and creating value from waste. APEC award profile
The visit offered an opportunity to learn from the farm’s approach and exchange ideas with awardees from across the region. For BMS, it also highlighted opportunities to connect regenerative farming with the development of new building materials.
Taking the Ideas Further: Coconut Waste to Building Materials
Building on this approach, BMS is exploring how coconut waste from Aromatic Farm can be transformed into biochar and incorporated into building materials with carbon-storage potential.

This pathway gives agricultural by-products a new purpose and extends their value beyond the farm. The aim is to retain carbon in useful building products, with performance and climate benefits to be evaluated through material development and testing.
Connecting Knowledge to New Possibilities
The exchange highlighted how collaboration across sectors can help take BCG principles further—from regenerative farming to new applications in construction.
